Current Research
My research focuses on understanding and exploiting electrons and spins of electrons in materials and nanoscaled devices for fundamental research driven by technological interests. I am particularly interested in two-dimensional van der Waals (2D-vdW) materials, in which layers of atoms are held together by weak vdW forces. Such structural properties allow the extraction of single atomic layers without compromising physical properties, providing atomic-sized "Lego-type" toy models for the exploration of exotic classical and quantum physics.
My expertise include materials science, nanofabrication, transport measurement and ultrafast optics using pump-probe technique.
