Enhancing your research portfolio through diversification of funding sources
Presented by Professor Ian Fisk, Matthew Rackley, Paul Yeomans, Adam Golberg
Date and time: Monday 21st June, 1pm
As part of the Biosciences Research Workshop Series, this session will introduce you to the benefit of diversifying your research funding and will give three case examples, firstly an overview on the European Research Council, with focus on Starting Grants, Consolidator Grants, Advanced Grants, Proof of Concept and Synergy Grants, this is highly relevant as the UK is now eligible to apply for ERC funding; this will be followed by an introduction to Knowledge Transfer Partnerships as an example of more applied research funding, and finally an overview on Wellcome. Wellcome has recently updated its funding approach, and this increases its relevance to a wider range of academics at different career stages. This workshop is of relevance to academics at all career stages.
