Biography

Principal Research Fellow in Plant and Crop Biophysics

Research interests cover fundamental and applied aspects of plant and crop root biology. Current research areas include:

  • Development of laboratory, growth room and glasshouse-scale phenotyping platforms
  • Root tropisms
  • Field phenotyping technology development

Director of Postgraduate Research, School of Biosciences

As Director of Postgraduate Research, I am responsible for developing and implementing the School's PGR strategy and providing leadership to the School in relation to postgraduate research programmes, processes and policies. I chair the School's PGR & PDRA Forum and sit on the School Research Board and School Leadership Team. I act as a senior tutor for all current PGR students. I also sit on the Research Ethics Committee.
