Hesham Ali (PhD, US CPA, CPA Australia, PGCHE, FHEA, MSc, BSc) is an Assistant Professor in Accounting in Nottingham University Business School. Hesham has been qualified as a chartered accountant with a number of professional accountancy bodies including US CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and CPA Australia (Certified Practicing Accountant). Before commencing his lectureship at the University of Nottingham, Hesham worked as a lecturer at University of Birmingham, Nottingham Trent University, and Mansoura University. Hesham has presented his research at several national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars such as the European Accounting Congress, British Accounting and Finance Association, Nottingham University Business School PhD Conference, Emerging Markets Inspiration Conference, Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research, and Academy of Sustainable Finance, Accountability & Governance. Hesham is also an ad hoc reviewer for a number of international journals and international conferences. Over the course of his career, he has received many awards on his teaching and research.
Hesham's research interests include financial reporting, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and climate finance, and corporate political activity. Hesham has published his research papers in several world-leading and internationally excellent research journals such as Research Policy, Accounting Forum, Journal of International Accounting, Auditing, and Taxation, and Business & Society.
