Dr Tam Nguyen (PhD, FCCA, CPA Australia, PGCHE, FHEA) is an Associate Professor in Accounting at Nottingham University Business School. Tam has been qualified as a chartered accountant with a number of professional accountancy bodies including the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA, UK) and Australia Certified Practising Accountants (CPA Australia). Before commencing his lectureship at the University of Nottingham, Tam worked as a lecturer at the University of Winchester, University of Southampton and Southampton Solent University. His teaching subjects include Audit & Assurance, Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting and Financial Statement Analysis.

Before starting his academic career, Tam had many years practicing as a senior auditor and audit manager at Deloitte and RSM global. He was a Finance Manager at a multinational company (Samsung) with multiple tasks of reporting, forecasting and budgeting, as well as involvement in different projects as an accounting and finance adviser.

Tam's research interests include financial reporting, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and climate finance. Tam has published his research papers in several internationally excellent research journals, such as Business and Society, Financial Accountability and Management, International Review of Financial Analysis, Accounting Forum, Business Strategy and the Environment, Australian Accounting Review.

Tam is currently Associate Editor at (i) Journal of Applied Accounting Research, and (ii) Journal of Financial Reporting and Accounting.

Tam welcomes PhD applications in the areas of financial reporting, corporate governance, executive compensation, corporate social responsibility, sustainability, climate finance, social and environmental accounting.

In addition, his research has been presented at a number of conferences, such as the European Accounting Association Congress, the American Accounting Association conference; the British Accounting and Finance Association.

Tam has been an active reviewer for numbers of internationally excellent research journals such as: International Review of Financial Analysis (ABS 3); Accounting Forum (ABS 3); International Journal of Finance and Economics (ABS 3) and peer-reviewed journals: Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies (ABS 2), Journal of Applied Accounting Research (ABS 2); Research in International Business and Finance (ABS 2).
