Xiaoli studied an MSc in International Business and graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2024.
Explaining why she chose Nottingham, Xiaoli said:
"I chose to study at the University of Nottingham as it not only boasts outstanding academic achievements but also pursues rich and diverse research directions.
The university’s global network of alumni and industry partnerships offer networking opportunities and potential collaborations, enhancing the prospects for my professional growth."
Her interest in international business developed earlier in her career. Xiaoli explained: “I became interested in international business through previous working experience. I was interested in how companies can boost their sales and streamline operational efficiency.”
The course content proved especially relevant. She noted: "What I enjoyed most during my MSc International Business course was how it aligned with my career development goals. Key modules, such as Managing People, International Business Environment, and International Economics, offered practical insights to navigate the complexities of the global business landscape effectively."
Xiaoli’s has some advice for future students. She said:
Given the time constraints of a one-year master's programme, I would suggest to any new postgraduate student at the University of Nottingham to plan what they want to achieve and try to maintain a high level of self-motivation. I’d also encourage stepping outside your comfort zone and join sports and societies that appeal to your interests.
