Mark has come to chaplaincy after an extensive career in education. He taught for twenty-two years in schools in Nottinghamshire, holding various management positions. In 2003 Mark moved into educational consultancy, initially as a member of Nottinghamshire’s Advisory and Inspection Service before branching out independently. Now retiring from education, Mark is looking to use his skills and experience to give back to others.

Significant life events, including family bereavements, prompted Mark to explore Humanism as a way to give life meaning. Ultimately, inspiring him to train as a pastoral volunteer in order to share his beliefs to support others.

Mark is a passionate runner (if somewhat slower than in his youth), has very eclectic tastes in music, and is not averse to socialising over coffee or a good real ale!
