Rachel Palfreyman (Associate Professor, University of Nottingham) discusses the delicate silhouette animation of pioneering German filmmaker Lotte Reiniger, a source of inspiration for several artists in The First Cut exhibition. The lecture will be followed by a screening of Reiniger’s 1926 animated feature film The Adventures of Prince Achmed(66mins).
