Biography

I am Professor of Cyber Security in the School of Computer Science at the University of Nottingham, as well as an Adjunct Professor with Edith Cowan University in Western Australia and an Honorary Professor with Nelson Mandela University in South Africa. I am also the UK Representative to Technical Committee 11 (Security and Privacy Protection) within the International Federation for Information Processing, as well as a board member of the Chartered Institute of Information Security and chair the academic partnership committee.

Current Research

My main research interests are broadly linked to the intersection of human, technological and organisational aspects of cyber security. Within this, specific themes of interest include the usability of security technology, security management and culture, cybercrime and abuse, and technologies for user authentication and intrusion detection. Related to this, I have authored over 330 papers in refereed international journals and conference proceedings, as well as various books, chapters, and professional articles.
