Q. When will I have the joining instructions for the conference?

You will receive the full joining instructons by 8th June.

Q. How do I get to the Conference?

Use the postcode NG7 2RJ to navigate if arriving by car. Complimentary parking is available at the hotel/Conference  Centre. 

The nearest train station is Nottingham, and there are easy links to East Midlands, Birmingham and London Airports. It would be advisable to take a taxi from Nottingham train station (4 miles from hotel) or from East Midlands Airport (14 miles from the hotel). Birmingham Airport is 50 miles/approx. 1 hour journey by car and London Heathrow Airport is 130 miles/3 hours or more by car.

Q. Can I add additional nights at the Orchard Hotel to my conference booking?

Yes. If you chose the accommodation option then you have a room already booked for the nights of July 1, 2 and 3. If you wish to add any additional nights stay at the Orchard Hotel you must contact their reservations team on 0115 876 0900 (choose option 1) or email EMCC reservations@devere.com

If you did not originally select the accommodation option when booking your place at the conference but would now like to add accommodation, please contact fop18@nottingham.ac.uk.

Q. What are the timings for the Conference?

Check in at the Orchard Hotel is available from 2pm on Sunday 1st July. Conference registration is available in the hotel foyer from 5.30pm. An informal buffet dinner is available for all delegates in the Orchard Hotel restaurant between 6.30pm and 8.30pm followed by a drinks reception in the hotel mezzanine area.

The Conference will be formally opened on Monday 2 July at 8.30 am by Dame Jessica Corner, Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Nottingham. The Conference will close at 1.15pm on 4th July, when a buffet lunch will be available. A full Conference programme is available online click here

Q. What are the catering arrangements for the Conference?

Conference lunches and dinners are all included within your registration. The Conference gala dinner will take place on the Tuesday evening and the dress code is smart/business casual. If you have not already done so, please advise us as soon as possible of any dietary requirements.

Q. How can I download the conference app?

We would encourage you to download our conference app. The app contains travel links, the full programme, speaker biographies, abstracts and further information on the venue. You will be able to link directly to the relevant abstract during each talk, and we will also use the app to communicate reminders and updates during the event. To access the app, simply follow these steps:

1. Install the MyNottingham app from your usual app store. When you are asked for a log in, simply choose Guest User.

2. You will see a whole range of information tiles - simply select the "Food Oral Processing Conference 2018" tile, easily identified by our apple picture!)             

If you cannot install the app, then the majority of information is also available direct from the Food Oral Processing Conference website.

Q. What size should my poster be?

Posters should be A0 portrait.

Q. What do I need to bring for my presentation/poster?

Oral presentations -please bring your slides on a USB stick. The optimum slide ratio is 16:9. The timing is 10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for questions.

Posters should be A0 in size and portrait. Please bring your poster with you and a place will be allocated to you on arrival. The posters will remain in place for the duration of the conference.

Q. What format does my PowerPoint presentation need to be in?

Please use the 16:9 Ratio for powerpoint presentations.

Q. How can I contact the conference organisers during the conference?
