Foundations

Underpinning all digital developments at the University is a requirement for strong foundations to be laid. This includes having the right hardware, excellent networking and connectivity, effective governance processes, and the finest skills and staff to advance our digital future.

The Foundations work stream underpins the University's ambitions for digital revolution by:

  • Updating and implementing core infrastructure needed for a dynamic and digitally-advanced university
  • Ensuring resilience and robustness of networks and systems
  • Utilising the finest cloud-based services
  • Ensuring data security and standards
  • Adopting new ways of working, such as agile, to ensure new digital implementations are adopted and embedded efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Enhancing the customer service nature of technology support around the University
  • Supporting the development of advanced digital skills across the University, as well as developing critical business skills amongst technical staff.
