The School of Economics welcomes applications from visiting research students, typically for a period of three, six, nine or 12 months.
If you are successful in the application process, you will receive an offer.
There are three essential stages:
- You need to complete and submit an application form which can be obtained by emailing email@example.com. There is a pro rata fee payable by visitors.
- Your application must include a letter of recommendation from your current institution. Visiting research students must be proposed by their home institution, typically a letter from their supervisor indicating why a visit here would be beneficial and that it is supported by their institution.
- Once we verify that you meet our requirements, including proof of English language proficiency (usually IELTS 7.0 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in each element), we have to be able to identify a member of staff to 'host' you as a visitor. We will do this, but it requires that there is a member of staff working in your research area.
