Biography

Ahmed completed his BEng (Hons) and PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nottingham Malaysia, where he specialized in numerical modeling and fluid-structure interaction. His doctoral research focused on one-dimensional modeling of blood flow in the human arterial network in conjunction with the Generalized Transfer Function (GTF) technique to improve cardiovascular diagnostics.

Following the completion of his PhD, Ahmed embarked on his academic career as a lecturer at the University of Bolton, where he led several project-based modules, including Engineering Projects and Systems and Advanced Engineering Analysis. He then joined Nottingham Trent University, where he developed and delivered forward-thinking modules focused on engineering design and sustainability. His courses covered essential topics such as Computer Aided Design, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Sustainable Design, and Product Lifecycle Assessment (LCA).

Ahmed joined the University of Nottingham as the Postgraduate Experience Director in the Faculty of Engineering, where he now leads strategic initiatives for student recruitment across the Middle East, Türkiye, Pakistan, and West Africa for the Faculty's postgraduate programs. Additionally, he oversees the postgraduate student experience within the faculty, ensuring a supportive, engaging, and dynamic environment for all students.

In his current role, Ahmed convenes two key postgraduate modules: Advanced Engineering Research Project Organization and Design and Individual Postgraduate Projects.
