Our facilities in the Faculty of Engineering

At the University of Nottingham, our facilities will provide you with a great learning environment. This includes research facilities where you’ll work on world changing projects, design studios and labs for the hand-on project work, and new buildings developed with you in mind.

£3.6 million investment in facilities

During summer 2021 we have invested over £3.6 million to improve facilities for students across the Faculty of Engineering. This includes expanded and new state of the art teaching facilities for Electrical and Electronic Engineering students, extensions to the pilot plants in the laboratories and the creation of more group design spaces.

Architecture and the Built Environment

By studying in our architecture and built environment department you will have access to modern facilities central to your learning experience. These include the Sustainable Research Building, design studios, the Marmont Centre for Renewable Energy, and our creative energy homes, which demonstrate the use of renewable technologies and their integration with architectural design. These are the perfect environments to encourage creativity and develop ideas.

Engineering

Our engineering department has access to industry leading facilities that will provide you with the best teaching and learning experience possible. We have specialised equipment such as flight simulators, 3D printing, and dedicated teaching labs for structures, geotechnics and fluid mechanics. As well as these, all students will be able to take advantage of our design studios and the George Green Library.
