Biography

Dr. Natasha Simonova completed her PhD in English Literature at the University of Edinburgh in 2014 and subsequently worked as a lecturer and researcher at the Universities of Edinburgh, Cambridge, and Oxford. She is also a Research Fellow at the Institute of English Studies, University of London.

Current Research

Dr. Simonova specialises in literature of the long eighteenth century, particularly women's writing, manuscript cultures, and how studying texts beyond the canon can shed new light on literary history. She is working on a book about a coterie of female aristocratic correspondents titled The Grey Ladies: The Secret Literary Lives of 18th-Century Women, forthcoming from Chatto & Windus. Other interests include romance, the early novel and the history of literary criticism.
