Teaching Associate in Literature, Faculty of Arts
I have a BA (hons) in English with a Theatre minor (University of San Francisco and the Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies in Oxford, affiliated with Keble College), an MA in Late Medieval Studies (Centre for Medieval Studies, University of York), and a PhD in English (University of York), which focused on interpretations across the 'whole book' of a late 15th century manuscript containing fourteen texts in Middle English and also produced four diplomatic editions of texts within Manchester, Chetham's MS 8009.
I currently teach on the undergraduate 'Studying Literature' and the postgraduate 'Place, Region, Empire' modules, and have contributed to the 'Modernism and the Avant-Garde in Literature' module.

My research interests include manuscripts and the history of the book, the depiction and agency of women in late medieval literature, the construction of display and the presentation of self, as well as the cultural constructions and ideologies of space and place, primarily in Middle English romance, courtesy texts and hagiography.
My post-medieval interests range from Shakespeare to 19th and 20th century women's writing.
