The Graduate School is committed to providing strategic advice around doctoral programmes, and a range of activities and resources to support Research Supervisors to develop and maintain the highest standards in doctoral supervision.
Aimed at all University staff involved in research, this seminar series aims to inform on a wide range of supervision topics. It is delivered by colleagues from around the University, external speakers and Graduate School staff.
This course is designed for academic staff who supervise doctoral students and would welcome the opportunity to reflect upon and develop their role in the supervision process.
This workshop is for academic staff undertaking the role of internal or external examiner of a doctoral thesis for the first time. It will help supervisors identify how they can best prepare their students for this examination.
A set of self-directed online modules for new supervisors, and those who have more experience. It has interactive content such as videos, quizzes, and a personal portfolio. Available to staff at all of our international campuses.
This e-book provides advice specific to the University of Nottingham supervision environment.
