Description

Dr Chrysanthi Gallou will deliver the Annual Lecture for the Centre for Spartan and Peloponnesian Studies on 'Investigating the oldest submerged town in the world: The Pavlopetri Underwater Archaeology Project'.

The lecture will begin at 18.15 and finishing at 19.00 with a reception in the University Museum that inaugurates the first CSPS Postgraduate conference.

The archaeological-oceanographical interdisciplinary project at Pavlopetri (southern Laconia) runs under the auspices of the British School at Athens and the University of Nottingham (CSPS and UARC) in collaboration with the Hellenic Ministry of Culture & Tourism and the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR).
