Description

The construction by NET 2 of two new tram lines from the centre of Nottingham to Toton and Clifton has created the opportunity for some of the largest archaeological interventions in Nottingham for many years. Work undertaken by Trent & Peak Archaeology includes large open area excavations of a prehistoric landscape at Clifton and the important medieval priory at Lenton. This talk by Dr Daivd Strange and Dr Gareth Davies from Trent and Peak Archaeology will discuss some of the findings of the archaeological work so far and what this work means in the context of the city's history.

After the talk there will also be an opportunity to see some of the finds from the excavations and chat further with the project team.
