Rome's Invisible City

Dr Mark Bradley and Alexander Armstrong in 'Rome's Invisible City'

Featuring our own Dr Mark Bradley, the documentary ‘Rome’s Invisible City’ aired on BBC1 at 9pm on Monday night to 4.5 million viewers.  Presented by Alexander Armstrong and using cutting-edge 3D scanning technology, the programme explored the underground treasures – aqueducts, sewers, underground cults and catacombs – that underpinned Europe’s first metropolis and made Rome the powerhouse of the ancient world.

The programme is available on BBC iPlayer until the end of June and Mark has blogged about the filming (why not check out Mark showing Alexander how to use a strigil and explaining what Romans used scalding hot walnuts for!)
