British Academy award for Conor Kostick

The British Academy has awarded Conor Kostick its Rising Star Engagement Award. This prestigious grant secures funding for a major conference for 40 early career researchers, to be held at the University of Nottingham in November 2015.

The two-day conference, ‘Making the Medieval Relevant’, will inspire researchers of medieval history to think innovatively about the various ways in which their work has relevance to today. They will consider the ways in which research into the medieval era can shed light upon ‘big picture’ humanities topics.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage with experts in developing public policy and research agendas, and learn from successful bids for research funding by other UK medievalists, particularly those with a multi-disciplinary aspect to their research.
