Sheryllynne Haggerty was recently elected as a member of the ESRC Peer Review College, with her appointment starting on 1 December 2015 for a period of four years. The ESRC is one of the main Research Councils UK bodies and particularly funds research in the social sciences and economic research across a wide of disciplines, including history. The role of a college member is critical to the ESRC as good quality peer review helps to make robust and transparent funding decisions to support the very best social science. College members review up to eight referee reports per year. Dr Haggerty will provide advice in her research areas: 17th- and 18th-century British Atlantic history, business networks, business culture and interdisciplinary work on networks.
