Benefits package
In addition to base pay, pension and annual leave the following benefits also apply:
China Housing Allowance
The UNNC Provost will be provided an on-campus villa during the appointment.
China/Malaysia Location Allowance
The location allowance is paid to seconded staff at a rate of 10% of nominal UK salary for the duration of the overseas assignment. This is intended as a means of financially compensating secondees and accompanying family for adapting to a specific international environment and/or any reduction in their quality of life.
China/Malaysia Mobility Allowance
The mobility allowance is paid to seconded staff at a rate of 10% of nominal UK salary for the duration of the overseas assignment. This is intended as an incentive to accept assignments and to compensate the secondee and accompanying dependents for the general impact of uprooting home and working abroad.
Cost of Living Adjustment
A cost of living adjustment is made to nominal UK salary to take into account the differences between the UK and Chinese/Malaysian cost of living and allow for fluctuations in exchange rates. Salaries will be adjusted in June and December to reflect movement in the index, which is provided by ECA International. The cost of living index is applied to 40% of net income as this is the amount that is deemed to be spendable locally.
Travel Allowance
Staff seconded to China or Malaysia are entitled to an economy home leave flight once in each year of international service, except in the year of repatriation. Staff may choose to claim a travel allowance as a cash alternative.
Medical Health Insurance
The medical health insurance is provided for the staff.
