Introducing LibKey Nomad – the new library browser extension

From Tuesday 30 June LibKey Nomad will replace Library Access as the new browser extension designed to provide easy access to online research materials, such as journals, databases and webpages.

What is LibKey Nomad?

LibKey Nomad is a browser extension that provides one-click access to journal articles.  When you visit a website with academic content, LibKey Nomad will provide direct links to downloadable PDF versions of articles and allow you to export citations.

Why the change?

We’re transitioning from Library Access to LibKey Nomad to improve user experience when accessing online study and research materials. LibKey Nomad provides more intuitive access to PDFs, with easily accessible downloads and integration with academic platforms like PubMed and Scopus.

The new extension is also supported by a broad range of browsers including, Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave, Vivaldi and Safari.

Prepare for the switch to LibKey Nomad before the transition

LibKey Nomad is available to download now, so explore the new browser extension and test its functionality ahead of the full transition. After 1 July Library Access will no longer be available to use.

If you have any questions, please ask a member of Library staff or get in touch.
