Description

Quantum Roundabout is a postgraduate conference whose 3rd edition will be held between the 11th and 13th of July of 2018 at the School of Mathematical Sciences of The University of Nottingham.

This event intends to bring together early career researchers, working at the crossroads between quantum physics and applied mathematics, providing them with an opportunity to network and interact with their peers in related areas, as well as a handful of recognised experts.

The conference is organised by PhD students and open to PhD students and post-docs from universities all over the world. This edition aims to cover the theory and applications of three active research areas of quantum physics, all intimately interconnected, namely:

  • Mathematical Foundations of Quantum Thermodynamics
  • Frontiers of Quantum Information and Shannon Theory
  • Quantum Estimation Theory for Quantum Technologies

Keynote speakers:

  • Prof Jonathan Oppenheim
  • Dr Nilanjana Datta
  • Prof Matteo Paris

Three leading researchers have been invited to give lectures/tutorials on these cutting-edge topics. Moreover, a flexible programme with room for up to 24 contributed talks and a dedicated poster session has been devised to encourage an active contribution from all early career participants. There will be an entertaining social programme as well.

Registration for abstracts is currently open until 6 April 2018 at the registration URL above.
