On Wednesday 17 October, once again the School of Mathematical Sciences atrium hosted the Undergraduate Research Expo. The event showcased some of the excellent work from the latest summer bursary students.
Every year selected undergraduate students have the opportunity to engage in summer projects funded by various bursary schemes including LMS, Wellcome, EPSRC, BBSRC, the Dr M. Jackson Trust as well as school-based initiatives. This gives motivated students an excellent opportunity to be involved first-hand in academic activities and many of these students later apply for PhDs.
The event was a great success with over 20 undergraduate students who study maths or are supervised by staff from within the School, presenting their posters.
Tea, coffee and cakes were available throughout the afternoon and were well received by all!
