The Division of Primary Care is a member of the NIHR School for Primary Care Research which funds specific programmes at the University.
ST3 Entry Academic Clinical Fellowship in Primary Care
For applicants who are currently in their second year of general practice specialty training (ST2) who wish to undertake clinical academic training starting in August of the year of their application.
There is one fellowship funded each year.

GP Career Progression Fellowship in Primary Care
For GPs with a strong academic record and a commitment to a career in academic primary care. The award is part-time and has a flexible split between academic and clinical time. It allows you to develop a formal doctoral training fellowship application and ends when you succeed in securing one.
There is one award funded each year.

Short-term academic placements
We offer four-month placements for F2 and GP registrars who wish to gain research experience as part of a 50% clinical academic placement.
Academic Foundation Year 2 placements
The Trent Foundation School, in partnership with the University of Nottingham and the Queen’s Medical Centre, offer 12 F2 training opportunities in Academic Medicine and Surgery.
