Dr Ch'ng's areas of expertise are in virtual reality, virtual environments, and digital heritage, particularly digital interfaces to rich representations of physical contents. Big data research focusing on social media and social networks that looks into the collective behaviours of online communities are also in my immediate areas of interest.
His research has featured in National Geographic News, Nature, local news papers, and online. It has been shared widely on social media and via his own youtube channel.
