Nottingham expert wins award for revealing true number of modern slaves

An expert from the Rights Lab at the University of Nottingham, who applied a new technique for estimating the real extent of modern slavery, has been recognised with a prestigious award. Professor Kevin Bales' ESRC-funded work on estimates of the numbers of people enslaved has won him the £10,000 award for Outstanding International Impact in the 2018 Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Celebrating Impact Prize.
