Each month we are asking for your suggestions for what we should image next using electron microscopy. The winning suggestion for June was...Pine Pollen which was selected by Clare Templey, who teaches about pollen using light microscopes and wanted to see the structure down to the finer details using electron microscopy.
The Pine Pollen was collected from a nearby Pine tree outside of the Life Sciences building on campus and was imaged using the JEOL JCM-7000 Neoscope Scanning Electron Microscope by our Knowledge Exchange Fellow Dr Luke Norman.
If you would like to suggest an idea for an object to be imaged using electron microscopy, visit our website and maybe we'll be showcasing it soon!
