Users of the PINCER audit tool will be interested to note that the tool has been updated [latest release date 28/11/2014].
The PINCER audit tool was commissioned by The University of Nottingham’s PINCER research team and the original version of the tool searched on all patients from the practice list, including those that had left or had died. This allowed retrospective analysis of all patient records.
This new version of the PINCER audit tool has been updated to search solely for currently registered patients so that only existing potential prescribing errors are highlighted, in order to better support practices in identifying trends in potential prescribing errors by providing clearer contemporary results.
