PRIMIS is delighted to announce the launch of a new version of its Warfarin Patient Safety quality improvement tool that enables pre-written searches to be run instantly using the EMIS Web reporting module.  This marks a significant improvement over MIQUEST queries which have to be scheduled to run overnight, thereby saving time and resources.

Furthermore, practices can schedule the EMIS Web searches to run on a regular basis so that data can be ready to open in CHART at the practice’s convenience.

Practices can obtain the EMIS Web version of the tool via ‘Check for Updates’ within the CHART software tool (please note: for ease of use, the installer for the Warfarin Patient Safety tool contains both the MIQUEST queries and EMIS Web searches). Further information, including instructions for use, can be found by clicking on ‘Run Other Searches’ within CHART.

It is important to note that MIQUEST and clinical system reports are based on different models of data extraction and therefore practices using the EMIS web versions of the tools should expect slight variances in the data output.

This is the first announcement over the coming months that will see more PRIMIS tools released in an EMIS Web format.  A version of the Diabetes Care quality improvement tool that can be run on the EMIS Web reporting module will be released shortly.

The coming year will see the release of more quality improvement tools in a variety formats, providing greater choice, ease of use and flexibility for PRIMIS customers.
