A big thank you to all who attended the SNOMED CT Update event

Thank you to all our delegates, guests and especially speakers who contributed to making last Thursday's event an informative, insightful and enjoyable day.

Just over 100 people attended a lively event, representing national NHS organisations, CCGs and CSUs, practice staff, industry and the academic research community and we welcomed delegates from as far afield as Zambia.

We were particularly proud that we were able to reach such a diverse audience, who were interested in understanding the impact of SNOMED CT on their practices, CCGs, businesses and the wider health service.

We took the step this year of utilising the skills of a professional writer, so do please look out for a full round up of the event on our website later this month. Until we bring you this full round-up, we have a few pictures of the event online.

We asked delegates to tell us their favourite sessions at the event. These are just some of the replies:

  • Paul Maddy’s session: Good speaker and very useful to have a GP perspective so I can prepare other GPs
  • I enjoyed the sessions on dm+d – as I always wondered what it was!
  • EMIS – nice to hear detail from a provider supplier
  • very useful information delivered across all presenters All speakers were useful in context of my role within the CCG
  • all the presenters were excellent, particularly Denise Downs.
  • the Q&A session was very informative
  • all six presenters were top notch. Lots of useful information
  • Stuart Abbott’s presentation was very informative and I gained a greater understanding of dm+d
  • Dr Dai Evan’s session – it was very practical and informative
  • the day had a very good balance of introductory information and more technical information
  • EMIS – good to see practical application of SNOMED CT within clinical systems
  • Malcolm Duncan’s session – a good update and was both insightful and technical
  • all were good – getting different perspectives of the impending choices was very helpful
  • challenges of specifications in SNOMED CT was very thought provoking
