PRIMIS is delighted to announce a new version of the Diabetes Care quality improvement tool that also enables pre-written searches to be run instantly using the EMIS Web reporting module.

This marks a significant improvement over MIQUEST queries which have to be scheduled to run overnight, thereby saving time and resources.

Other updates to the Diabetes Care tool

All versions of the Diabetes Care tool have been updated to:

  • provide a separate datasheet to enable practices to focus on the care processes alone
  • enable better reporting of patients meeting targets for cholesterol, HbA1c and BP, including the requirements of the NDA, CCG IAF and NICE guidelines
  • reflect latest NICE guidance on the use of SGLT-2 inhibitors
  • include atrial fibrillation as a co-morbidity

Practices can obtain the EMIS Web version of the tool via ‘Check for Updates’ within the CHART software tool (please note: for ease of use, the installer for the Diabetes tool contains both the MIQUEST queries and EMIS Web searches). Further information, including instructions for use, can be found by clicking on ‘Run Other Searches’ within CHART.

PRIMIS expects to announce further improvements to the Diabetes Care CHART Online toolkit in the near future, including the ability to download CCG summative data in a CSV format.

The coming year will see the release of more quality improvement tools in a variety formats, providing greater choice, ease of use and flexibility for PRIMIS customers.
