Our teams

On this page, you can find information on all of our areas and teams across Student and Campus Life. Our teams are based across multiple sites on all campuses.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)

Our EDI area is split across multiple sites and includes the below teams:

  • Chaplaincy & Faith Support provide support for students and staff of all faiths or none. The team have strong ties with local faith communities and can advise on places of worship, student faith societies, and how one's faith interacts with academic life.
  • Childcare Services provide quality childcare to alleviate pressures created by work and studies for both student and staff parents.
  • EDI Coordinators play a crucial role in promoting, managing, and supporting equality, diversity, and inclusion activities across the university. Coordinators are aligned to a specific theme and area of the University.
  • Campus Experience supports students in their university journey and is comprised of the Student Hub team and the Welcome and Arrivals team. The Student Hub team helps students to navigate the University system, and the Welcome and Arrivals team work to create a wonderful experience when students first join University of Nottingham.

The EDI pillar at University of Nottingham is driven to promote a community of inclusiveness for all staff, students, and the wider community. 

 
Student Wellbeing

The Student Wellbeing area is committed to promoting and enhancing wellbeing among students and staff, making our campuses pleasant and inclusive places to study and work.

The Student Wellbeing area includes:

  • Support and Wellbeing Service Officers work alongside personal tutors, supervisors and other University support services to encourage a healthy approach to studies, and support students on a wide range of issues.
  • Health Improvement - HealthyU is the university health and wellbeing programme. HealthyU team primarily support students with providing information and advise on health issues.
  • Report and Support Service offers students, staff and those within our community a way to disclose harassment, bullying, discrimination, abuse or assault either anonymously or by contacting an advisor.
  • Counselling Service provides a short-term, year-round service for all students and staff for a wide range of emotional and psychological issues.
  • Mental Health Advisory Service (MHAS) is a specialist service specifically for students who are facing significant mental health difficulties.
 
Disability Support Services

The Disability Support Services team are based in Cherry Tree Lodge on University Park (What3words: ///pirate.shack.grades).

Disability Support Services are here to support the University community in creating an inclusive and equitable teaching and learning environment to the benefit of all students. Their specialist service provides student-led support to enable disabled students to flourish as independent learners.

 
Widening Participation and Outreach

Widening Participation and Outreach team works to identify, support, and empower talented individuals from diverse backgrounds to achieve their potential.

The team support learners from backgrounds underrepresented in Higher Education, including:

    • Students from areas of low higher education participation
    • Students with low household income and/or low socioeconomic status
    • Minority ethnic students
    • Mature students
    • Disabled students
    • Care leavers
    • Students with disrupted education, such as: carers, people estranged from their families, Roma and traveller communities, refugees, people with specific learning differences or mental health difficulties, children of military families.
