Novel photonic glasses synthesis and fabrication:

  • Active and passive novel glass optical fibres
  • 2-dimensional integrated optics
  • 3-dimensional storage devices

A dedicated facility for melting novel glasses and fabricating and characterising new types of waveguides, including a class-10,000 cleanroom, has been commissioned.  In-house interdisciplinary collaboration with the George Green Institute for Electromagnetics allows us to design new waveguides.
