Excellence in Research

The University of Nottingham’s dedication to research excellence and world-leading achievements ensure that research staff committed to knowledge discovery are attracted to and retained by the University.

We are committed to supporting the ongoing development of our researchers and hold the European Commission's 'HR Excellence in Research' badge.
This award is in recognition of our commitment to supporting research staff and to implementing the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers.

Graduate School support and resources

The Graduate School
and Centres run a year-round programme of training, events and other support activities.

If you’re interested in contributing to the delivery of this programme, in either a tutor or demonstrator role, please email us.

HR Excellence in Research

A UK-wide process, incorporating the QAA Code of Practice for Research Degree Programmes and the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, enables institutions to gain the European Commission’s ‘HR excellence in research’ badge, acknowledging alignment with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for their Recruitment.
