Sharing research on tourism at the Visit Nottinghamshire Visitor Economy Summit

Professor Marina Novelli presenting on stage in front of a screen about Sustainable Travel and Tourism Advanced Research CentreAcademics from the Sustainable Travel and Tourism Advanced Research Centre (STTAR-C) at the University of Nottingham were recently invited to attend the 'Visit Nottinghamshire Visitor Economy Summit' held at Center Parcs, Sherwood Forest. Professor Marina Novelli and Dr Carol Zhang presented the work of the centre and opportunities for local businesses to work collaboratively with the centre and university.

Dr Zhang, Associate Professor in Tourism Marketing and Management oversees the MSc in International Tourism Marketing and Management. Her research focuses on the role cultural heritage plays in place marketing for destinations.

Professor Novelli is Director of STTAR-C and a Professor of Marketing and Tourism. She is a globally renowned expert in sustainable tourism development and known for her inclusive research leadership and commitment to collaborating with diverse teams in the global tourism community.

"The event provided a unique opportunity for the tourism team to learn about the rich portfolio of activities happening in Nottinghamshire and explore possible ways to collaborate with a wide range of local stakeholders. As an immediate outcome of the event, Dr Zhang and I recently visited colleagues at Nottingham County Council to follow up on conversations we had during the Summit and how we can proactively explore ways to work together in the near future." - Professor Novelli, Director of STTAR-C
