As well as learning how to implement and manage business analytics projects, you will benefit from significant industry engagement. N-LAB's partners span the world, currently including: Tesco, Walgreen Boots Alliance, IBM, World Bank, TiGo Mobile, Krow Marketing, NHS, 7-eleven, Dunnhumby and Ipsos.
As well as guest lectures, coursework will be based on real-world datasets devised in collaboration with those partners. This means you will receive hands-on practical experience in the exact techniques these businesses are seeking and learn skills in managing practical data science projects.
This course is delivered by N-LAB, a new centre of excellence for International Business Analytics at Nottingham. N-LAB provides state of the art reseach, data visualisation and teaching facilities.
This course is data driven and focuses on real world problems which reflects the lab's research momentum, with projects all over the globe thanks to grants from Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Innovate UK, EPSRC, ESRC, DFID and Newton funds.
As part of the MSc, you will become an extended part of N-LAB's research family, including an expert team of staff and PhD students. In tandem with our global partner companies, we have designed a course to meet the ever increasing demand for graduates with in depth analytics knowledge and management skills - both in theory and in practice.
The course is structured to cover the fundamentals of business analytics and key langugaes (teaching Python and R, Big Data and Geospatial techniques, data visualisation tools and project management skills).
