If you’re looking for a career in business and management, are starting your own business or taking over a family firm, this course is for you.

The course prepares you for spotting and developing opportunities, bringing innovation to an organisation, working creatively and judging the value of ideas when investment conditions are uncertain.

You can choose subjects from the Sustainability or International Business pathways to suit your career needs. Your new skills will be put into practice on a ‘live’ consultancy project advising a local business on growth or development strategies, the findings of which you’ll present to senior management teams.

You will also have the opportunity to:

  • develop venture ideas
  • evaluate new technologies
  • conduct a consultancy project for a local business
  • write business plans
  • understand requirements for gaining venture finance
  • design marketing strategies
  • devise management strategies for high growth.

The course involves high levels of participation and practical learning to translate entrepreneurship, innovation, creativity and management theory into business-ready management skills.

You are taught by visiting entrepreneurs, attend lectures and take part in team working, business simulations, group projects and presentations.

In the summer you will develop a business plan or write an academic dissertation, whichever is most suitable. You will receive close support from our academics or a business mentor.

The course is delivered by our Haydn Green Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
