Module Content:
Some or all of:
Management accounting in context;
Traditional approaches to costing and management accounting;
Contemporary approaches to costing and management accounting;
Strategic management accounting;
Quality cost management;
Activity-based costing and management;
Balanced scorecard;
Global issues in management accounting;
Methodological issues in management accounting research.

Module Aims:
To provide a wider understanding of the main issues in traditional and contemporary approaches to management accounting and control.
To nurture students' capacity for systematic, analytical and critical thinking in preparation for their subsequent academic study, employment and personal development.
To develop active learning and self-assessment skills.

Module Assessment:
2 Hour Examination (50%); Individual Coursework (3,000 words) (50%)
