Biosecurity perspectives on dairy farms

Farmer-interviewThe aim of this project is to determine motivators and barriers towards implementing biosecurity measures.  The study aims to understand this area as perceived by UK dairy farmers, and a mixed methods inquiry is being used for the investigation.

We have conducted a number of interviews with farmers, and are currently assessing opinions from a wider range of individuals via a postal questionnaire.

Other work within this research initiative is addressing veterinary and other stakeholder attitudes towards biosecurity on dairy farms in the UK.  Additionally, farmer attitudes towards vaccination are being investigated; further information can be found here

For more information on this project, please visit AHDB Dairy. Preliminary findings were presented at SVEPM in 2013 and BCVA in 2015.
