Eligibility: You work or study at the University of Nottingham including its Nottingham ConfuciusInstitute and you speak Mandarin as a foreign language.
Format of the contest:
Advanced Panel:
a. Speech with Self-selected Topic: 3 minutes(Including a brief self-introduction in Chinese)
b. Talent Performance: 3 minutes (Contestants can choose to perform Chinese songs, music, dance, folk arts, acrobatics, musical instruments, calligraphy, paper cutting and kungfu, etc)
Beginners Panel:
For individual contestants: Speech with Self-selected Topic: 1-3 minutes(Including a brief self-introduction in Chinese)
For group contestants: Speech with Self-selected Topic: 3 minutes; Or Role Play with Self-selected Topic: 3 minutes(Including a brief self-introduction in Chinese)
Speeches are judged on: content, vocabulary, intonation, pronunciation
Prizes:
Advanced panel: First prize-one £100, Second prize-one £50, Third prize- one £30
Beginners panel: First Prize-one £50, Second prize-one £30, Third prize- one £20

1. A confirmation email will be sent to you on the success of your registration.
2. Top winners of this contest will be recommended to represent Nottingham at next year’sInternational Chinese Bridge Speech Competition in London, of which the top winners will representBritish universities and compete in the final Chinese Bridge competition in Beijing in summer 2017.
3. Participation will be judged as favourable by the Confucius Institute for 2016 scholarship applications.
