15th March saw nearly 60 people take part in our last Mandarin Corner event of the spring term at the Si Yuan Centre. The theme of the event was “blue and white porcelain”.

The evening event started with a language partner free talk session where Chinese and English-speaking students had a catch up using their target languages. This was followed by a brief introduction from a student expert on the history, style and production processes behind blue and white porcelain. Then, under her guidance, participants enthusiastically created their own unique blue and white patterns using blue marker pens and white paper plates (pictured on the right).

Two other Mandarin Corner sessions took place in the spring term, one dedicated to Chinese New Year and the other focussed on the ancient art of Cloisonné. Click the link to find out more.

Our Mandarin Corner events will resume after the Easter holidays. Details will be announced shortly on our website and social media outlets. Follow us on Instagram or Facebook to stay up to date with our courses and events. We wish everyone a happy Easter!
