Join us for the launch of antechamber, an anthology of prose and poetry by postgraduate students of the University of Nottingham (2023). There will be readings and q&a by several of the anthology’s contributors.The works in this collection, though largely produced within the duration of study, are also a culmination of each writer’s literary journeys (in-progress). There are stories on mortality and lotteries, of forgone youth and unsolved disappearances. Expressions of phase, of withstanding, of withholding. Narratives hopelessly repeated, endlessly resisted against. Kafka re-imaginings, subterranean windowsills, ghosts by the altar, and lots of unrequitedness; of waiting and manoeuvring within the wait. There is a modular sense to the pieces – singular and faintly relative to the next, but altogether offering an exciting array indicative of a burgeoning and eclectic writing scene.A copy of the anthology is included with each ticket.
