Current Research

This study focuses on the comparative analysis of idioms in English and Ukrainian languages. The aim of this research is to identify similarities and differences in phraseological units used in these two languages. Through this comparative analysis, the study will explore how idioms are used in everyday communication, how they reflect cultural differences, and how they can present challenges for second language learners.

The study will begin with a review of existing literature on idioms and their role in language use. The research will then move to a comparative analysis of idioms in English and Ukrainian, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative research methods. This will involve collecting idiomatic expressions from various sources, such as literature, social media, and spoken language, and analysing their meaning and usage.

The findings of this study will have important implications for language teaching and learning, as well as cross-cultural communication. By gaining a deeper understanding of idiomatic expressions in English and Ukrainian, learners of these languages can develop greater language proficiency and cultural awareness. Additionally, the findings can help educators to develop more effective strategies for teaching idioms to second language learners.

Overall, this study aims to contribute to the understanding of idiomatic expressions in different languages and how they are used in communication. It is hoped that the results of this study will help to promote cross-cultural understanding and facilitate more effective communication between speakers of different languages.
