The University of Nottingham Institute for Enterprise and Innovation (UNIEI) is one of the leading centres of excellence in enterprise education in Europe and a founder member of the UK Science Enterprise Centre Network.

Our mission is to be a centre of excellence in the development of enterprise and entrepreneurial skills, innovation and understanding the commercialisation of research. Globally, it is recognised that creativity, innovation, risk, knowledge transfer and technology transfer are key to competitiveness. UNIEI provides the Business School and the University with the platform to build on these issues.

UNIEI directs the East Midlands Science Enterprise Network (emsen) bringing together all HEIs in the region. In July 2004, UNIEI led a successful bid to secure a further £1.3 million from the Higher Education Innovation Fund 2 to further develop this work.

Based in the prestigious Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) UNIEI was launched in June 2000 with support from the DTI and East Midlands Development Agency (emda). UNIEI delivers research and teaching programmes in the new £11 million building on the state-of-the-art Jubilee Campus and offers student enterprise and business engagement opportunities from EnterpriseLab, based on the Nottingham University Innovation Park.
