Thiwakorn Thatchahiru

MSc Entrepreneurship Class of 2004

When I was studying for my engineering degree I realised that starting my own business was what I wanted for my career. However my academic studies had not entirely prepared me for this.

I soon discovered what seemed to be a unique Masters course available at the Nottingham University Business School which would enable me in one year to acquire the necessary knowledge and practical skills to start my own venture.

One of the original features of the course was an eight week project in which we acted as consultants for a small business. Our role was to give advice in several areas including; marketing, organisation management, finance and accounting for the owner of the new or existing business to develop new ideas and strategies to bring the company forward. I felt well prepared and am now confidently running my own business.

MSc Entrepreneurship Class of 2008

I have always wanted to run my own business and during my undergraduate degree I even launched two social enterprises. While developing those ventures I realised all the different skills and knowledge I would need to support myself as an entrepreneur.

The MSc in Entrepreneurship offered a convenient opportunity to acquire them all while obtaining a degree from a highly regarded business school.

Srowcha Dumrongthaveesa

MSc Entrepreneurship Class of 2009

Having completed the MSc Entrepreneurship course it was apparent to me that the theoretical and practical approach taken throughout is a good preparation for a variety of career options in the corporate sector, a family business or even setting up a new business.

On reflection the course gave me a broader understanding of business issues and stimulated me to realise the great significance of innovation and entrepreneurship in business and industry in Thailand.

Personally, I believe an entrepreneur cannot be successful without the input of change and innovation. Thus, what I have absorbed and practised through this course has inspired me to further continue my studies for a PhD in Bangkok as I wish to make a contribution in the academic field that will help Thai industry and young entrepreneurs create and develop their businesses to be profitable and successful.
