Biography

Dr Andreas Endruweit obtained a degree in Physics (Diplomphysiker - equivalent Master of Science) at Bayerische Julius-Maximilians-Universitaet Wuerzburg in 1995 and a Master's degree in Polymer and Composites Engineering at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in 1997. He completed a PhD (Doctor of Technical Sciences) at Eidgenoessische Technische Hochschule Zuerich in 2003. Since 2003, he has been Research Fellow in the Polymer Composites research group at the University of Nottingham and is now Associate Professor.

Andreas Endruweit is a member of the Composites Research group.

Research Summary

Dr Andreas Endruweit's main research interests are:

Experimental characterisation and modelling of processing properties of (textile) reinforcements, particularly permeability and formability

Development of methods and equipment for permeability measurement

Simulation of Liquid Composite Moulding processes

UV curing of laminates

Prepreg tack characterisation

He has contributed to formulating the following standards:

ASTM D8336 - Standard Test Method for Characterizing Tack of Prepregs Using a Continuous Application-and-Peel Procedure

ISO/DIS 4410 - Test methods for the experimental characterization of in-plane permeability of fibrous reinforcements for liquid composite moulding
