It's been really useful to understand the different aspects of colour, text, images and composition, learning the basics of Affinity Designer and how it can be applied for personal projects.

Students complete the following training:

Induction

Induction programme. This is for first students only. This normally takes place last week of September and first week of October and includes Development Needs Analysis, 

January Training Week

This normally takes place the second week of January. Various training options are available for all years. Year 1 selections are mandatory and include Challenge Days, Poster Training and Ethics training. 

Spring Conference

This takes place mid-April over two days. 

Year 1 students present a 2 minute flash presentation.

Year 2 students present a poster. 

Year 3 students present a 10 minute presentation. 

Year 4 students present a 3 Minute Thesis (3MT).

Research Culture and Ethics Training

Bespoke training is delivered by UoN Colleagues with a four-year programme with credited modules. 

Cluster specific training

Cluster leads will also organise bespoke cluster training in addition to DTP offerings. 

Additional training

Further training is available throughout the year. Most recently we have worked with The PhD Life Coach who has delivered webinars on procrastination and imposter syndrome.
